The GoPro Mountain Games attracts over 3,000 athletes to Vail and the Rocky Mountains of Colorado every summer. From professional, world champions to weekend warriors to jumping dogs, there’s something for everyone at the GoPro Mountain Games to get in on the action. Last year in 2022, over 89,000 spectators attended the GoPro Mountain Games — all here to see YOU. Here’s the Top 5 Perks of Being a GoPro Mountain Games athlete:
1. Prize Purse
A total of $133,750 is on the line at the GoPro Mountain Games, spread across multiple competitions and disciplines. In addition, non-cash prizes are also available in most events. Whether you’re going for gold or just trying to finish, the top competitors will be going home with some money!
2. Athlete Bag
We are aware that some athletes sign up just to get the Athlete Bag! And we don’t blame you! Get decked out in all of the official GoPro Mountain Games gear, including shirt, hat, socks, bag, sponsor swag and more.
3. Go RVing Athlete Lounge
To many athletes’ delight, the Go RVing Athlete Lounge returns to Nature Valley Mountain Plaza in 2023. All athletes can kick back and recover at the Go RVing Athlete Lounge, located at the base of Gondola One and in the heart of the action. Athletes can enjoy drinks (Drip Drop, Rambler, Optimum Nutrition, ISOPURE), two Pacifico beer tickets, sponsor samples, snacks, Razo Massages, Vail IV & B12 shots and (Saturday only) an ice bath.

Whether you’re a pro or a Joe (or Joette), this kickoff to summer event let’s athletes see just where they stand amongst other mountain athletes. In addition to the juicy prize purse, some serious brownie points are also on the line amongst friends and family.
