Who says adventure athletes don’t get paid? The GoPro Mountain Games return June 10-13 with an overall prize purse exceeding $120,000.

This year, the $120K is only spread across ~20 events, rather than the event’s usual 30-plus events.

That means more money for top finisher, and red-hot competition for both men and women. In addition to prize money, winners and podium finishers will also walk away with some sweet gear from YETI, and other prizes.

On Thursday, June 10, the action gets underway with the YETI Catch Wars, a competition to see which team of two can catch the most fish out of the Eagle River. The prize purse for the YETI Catch Wars totals $1,750, with the winning team receiving $1,000, second-place earning $500 and third place taking home $250. The YETI Fishing Final on Saturday, June 12, includes a $10,500 prize purse total, with the winning male and female receiving $3,000 — there will also be a $500 award to the person who catches the Biggest Fish that day.

The Mountain House Disc Golf Tournament, taking place at two 18-hole courses at Maloit Park in Minturn, will pay out $8,500 in cash and prizes. The open division winners will receive cash, and the amateur winners will win prizes.

The TIAA Bank XC Mountain Bike race on Saturday, June 12, yields the biggest payout at the Mountain Games with a $31,700 total prize purse. The top six men and top six women will each receive winnings, with the first-place winners taking home $6,000 each.

Runners participating in the adidas Terrex 10 Spring Runoff on Sunday, June 13, will be competing for a piece of the $11,500 total prize purse, with winners also receiving adidas shoes and vouchers as well as Vail Resorts retail gift cards. Runners taking to the JUNK Brands Pepi’s Face-Off, also on June 13, will face a grueling trail that goes up and down one of Vail’s most famous ski runs with the first-place male and female winning $2,500 each.

Everyone’s a winner in the TIAA Bank Kids Bike Race on Saturday, June 12, with all participants receiving a race number, medal and photo opportunities, as well as a Marvel themed JUNK Brand headband and Kindhumans Coloring & Activity Book.

More than $2,600 is up for grabs at the Orijen DockDogs National Championship competitions, taking place at the Go RVing DockDog Arena in Lionshead Village.
