The official kick off to summer in the mountains of Colorado starts this Thursday with our 18th annual GoPro Mountain Games. We want to wish our athletes, partners, vendors, staff, volunteers, spectators and sponsors a safe, peaceful and enjoyable few days in beautiful Vail, Colorado.
The Mountain Games started 18 years ago as a small whitewater festival. Each year we always like to tip our hat to Joel Heath and Joe Blair who helped make this event a reality back in 2002.
The non-profit Vail Valley Foundation acquired the Mountain Games project 11 years ago and it has been an honor and our privilege to grow and expand this beloved project to what is today: the largest celebration of mountain sports, lifestyle and music in the world. We hope you all have a wonderful time at the GoPro Mountain Games.
