COMPETITION FORMAT:
- The competition will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Thursday will be an open training session.
- The competition will be broken into heats.
- There will be one heat on Friday, one on Saturday, and two heats of a smaller field on Sunday.
- In a heat, every athlete will have one run. Each run will last two minutes. Order will be random.
- Athletes will be paired and each pair will complete their run concurrently.
- The clock will start when the athlete touches the line and will stop when the athlete leaves the line and touches the ground.
- When the 2 minute clock is over, the athlete will get 15 seconds to perform a final trick or combo. As long as the athlete begins their combo before the 15 seconds, they can continue the combo as long as they remain on the line.
- The entire athlete field will participate in the Friday and Saturday heats and the field will be cut in half for the final heat on Sunday.
- The scores will be totaled from Friday and Saturday to determine the field for Sunday.
- Sunday there will be two heats and the two scores will be added to determine the final placing.
judging:
- There will be three judges. Each judge will focus on a single category and give a score out of 10 for their respective category. The three categories are:
- Difficulty
- Represents the overall difficulty of the athlete’s run. The judge will look at all the run as a whole and make a comprehensive judgment of its difficulty. Amplitude is factored in here as well.
- Creativity
- Represents how creative the athlete is and how diverse their run was. An athlete that only does butt bounce and chest bounce tricks will score low here. Flipping and spinning will score higher.
- Style
- Represents the cleanliness of the run and overall performance and execution of the run. Judges will focus on dabs, crashes, arm flailing, etc.
