Nature Valley Mountain Mud Run
A LITTLE DIRT NEVER HURT!
Get absolutely pitted in mud as you enjoy a GoPro Mountain Games classic. All abilities are welcome to join in on the family-friendly fun — just don’t wear your favorite shirt! May the muddiest mud runner win!

IMPORTANT: Registration for this event closes Saturday, June 7 at 10:00 AM. The minimum age to participate in the Nature Valley Mountain Mud Run is 6 years old. No exceptions. Event organizer recommend all kids 6-12 be accompanied by an adult.

Wave 1
Family & Kids (6-12)
Enjoy a unique adventure with your family in this division. Move slow, get muddy and, most importantly, have fun! This wave features a short lap style with two mud pits and enough obstacles to keep things interesting. The more the merrier — and muddier!
12:00 PM
Wave 2
All Ages (6+)
This wave will allow both Kids & Family and All Mountain Madness (13+) athletes to participate. Start times will be staggered between the 2 different groups to allow enough room for everyone to get muddy and messy!
1:30 PM
Wave 3
All Mountain Madness (13+)
Put out the call — it’s time to get dirty! Grab a friend (or 10) and take part in this short lap style mud run with two mud pits and multiple obstacles. Extra fun points go to those in costume, and the photo opportunities are endless!

Rules
Course, FORMAT & RULES:
- Event organizer recommend all kids 6-12 be accompanied by an adult.
- Minimum age to compete is 6 years old based on the athlete’s age at the end of the calendar year on Dec 31, 2025. No exceptions.
- Within each wave, racers will be sent out in groups of 50 every 2 minutes to help spread the athletes out.
- Start groups will be formed onsite as athletes arrive to the start line.
- Total length of one lap of the Nature Valley Mountain Mud Run course is roughly 0.7 miles.
- Waves 1 & 2 athletes should exceed 2 laps, Wave 3 athletes should not exceed 3 laps.
- Participants must follow all course markings. All course markings for this event will be black signs with GREEN arrows.
- Along the course, athletes will have to run on all types of terrain including asphalt roads, dirt roads, uneven, rocky conditions, grass, loose gravel and undulating single track.
- There are 9 obstacles on the course. Kids aged 6-12 may skip/go around any obstacle, if they choose.
- Due to the terrain, no strollers will be allowed on course.
- For safety reasons, kids in backpacks are not allowed.
- No tripping, shoving or horseplay will be tolerated and any athlete participating in unsporting conduct will be pulled from the course and disqualified.
- Athletes must compete in their designated wave only.
- Dogs are not permitted in the Nature Valley Mountain Mud Run. Please consider entering the BFGoodrich Rocky Dog Fun Run on Thursday, June 5 if you’d like to run with your pup!
ATHLETE INFORMATION:
- All athletes must wear shoes that tie. Other styles get left in the mud.
- Sunglasses are not recommended. The Slip-N-Slide claims a few pairs every year.
- The Nature Valley Mountain Mud Run rinse zone will be available immediately following the race. Remember to use this station to rinse off quickly as there are many racers in this year’s race.
- A limited number of towels will be provided so athletes should come prepared.
