- This event is not PDGA sanctioned.
- The competition for all athletes will begin at 8:00 AM Friday, June 6.

- The goal of the qualifications is to score as few points as possible during each round of competition.

- The Finals will be scored independently from the qualifying rounds and will consist solely of stroke-play disc golf competition with places and payout determined by the final round score.
- All players will be placed in one of four pools. Pool assignments and tee times will be available Thursday, June 5, 2025 and will be posted on the Mountain Games website, as well as sent to all participants via e-mail.
- If you are carpooling/requesting the same pool as another athlete, be sure to sign up in the same division, as pools will be based on divisions.

- Competition details – including format and scoring – are subject to change.
- Open athletes will compete for cash prizes, amateur athletes will compete for non-cash prizes. There will also be prizes awarded for the top finishers in each pool.
Scoring:
- STROKE PLAY – 18-Hole Courses
- Stroke Play will take place on the Maloit Park courses in Minturn.
- Qualifications at the Maloit Park courses will follow standard PDGA stroke play rules.
- Your score is the total number of throws required to finish the round, plus any penalty strokes.
- Late arrivals will be allowed to join their cards but will be given a score of four points plus par for each hole they miss.
- PUTTING SKILLS CHALLENGE
- The Putting Skills Challenge will take place at the Willow Creek Par 3 Course in EagleVail.
- Players will attempt to make twelve total putts at a basket from three distances.
- Please bring enough discs to complete the challenge in a timely fashion.
- You may retrieve discs during the competition; however, the clock will not stop.
- Each missed putt will count as one point.
- Athletes must be in the “on deck” zone at least 10 minutes before assigned tee time. Athletes who are not present when their name is called will be marked as a DNS and the athlete will receive the highest number of points possible for the challenge. Late starts will not be allowed.
- Competitors must stand behind the marked line when putting.
- Foot faults = missed putt.
- Players will have a 1:00 minute shot clock. Putts not taken in the 1:00 time limit will count as a missed putt and be penalized 1 point each.
- Four 4 putts at the 10’ target – each missed putt is penalized 1 point
- Four 4 putts at the 20’ target – each missed putt is penalized 1 point
- Four 4 putts at the 30’ target – each missed putt is penalized 1 point
- Best score if all putts are made = 0; worst score if all putts are missed = 12
- ACCURACY SKILLS CHALLENGE
- The Accuracy Skills Challenge will take place over the course of nine 9 holes at the Willow Creek Par 3 Golf Course in EagleVail.
- This round will be played with putter and midrange discs only.
- The accuracy challenge will take place immediately after the putting challenge.
- Players will proceed from the putting challenge to the start of the accuracy challenge at Hole 1 of the Par 3 golf course.
- Players may not leave the competition area between challenges. Late arrivals will be allowed to join their cards but will be given a score of 8 for each accuracy competition hole they miss.
- Players will take one throw at each hole, trying to get as close to the basket as possible.
- Because this is the accuracy challenge, players will not hole out on each hole.
- The closer a disc lands to the basket, the fewer points awarded.
- Sticking a throw in the basket (ace) will count as -10 for the hole. Each hole will have a measuring rope attached to the basket.
- If any portion of the disc lands inside of the first mark closest to the basket, the player will get 1 point, if inside of the second mark, the player will take 2 points, and if inside of the third mark, the player will take 3 points on that hole. If the player fails to land inside of the rope length, they take 4 points for that hole. At the end of the nine holes, the player will add up all points to determine their final score for the challenge.
- The best score possible (if a player aces all nine baskets) = -90; worst score (if player’s discs fail to land inside of rope length on all nine holes) = 36.
- MPH SKILLS CHALLENGE
- The MPH Skills Challenge will take place at the Ford Park Athletics Field.
- Players throw discs at a basket, with as much speed as possible, and potential score multipliers in play.
- Athletes must bring three discs to throw and will not be able to retrieve the discs between throws.
- Beware that discs may bend or damage if they hit the board at high speed, so take this into account when choosing what discs to bring.
- The MPH challenge will commence immediately after the long drive challenge. Please do not leave the competition area between challenges. If the athlete is not present when their name is called, they will be marked as a DNS and will receive the highest number of points possible for the challenge. Late starts will not be allowed.
- Each player starts the MPH challenge with 12 points.
- Players will have a 1:00 minute shot clock.
- Competitors must release the disc before either foot crosses the marked throwing line.
- Foot faults = lost throw and MPH will not count.
- Players will get a total of three 3 throws. Only the best throw will be calculated into their overall qualification score.
- The score is calculated as 15% of your total MPH throw, after bonuses have been awarded, and subtracted from 12 points.
- 10% score bonus for sticking a throw in the basket.
- 2x score bonus for the “mail slot,” a small rectangular opening below the basket.
- Example: A player throws 42 MPH and sticks it in the basket.
- 42MPH + basket bonus of 10% = 46.2
- 15% of overall score = 6.93
- 12 starting points – 6.93 = 5.07 final score
- LONG DRIVE SKILLS CHALLENGE
- The Long Drive Challenge will take place at the Ford Park Athletic Field.
- Players will start with the long drive challenge at their designated tee time. Once this challenge is completed, Players will proceed from the long drive challenge to the MPH Skills challenge.
- Players may not leave the competition area between challenges. If the athlete is not present when their tee time is called, they will be marked as a DNS and will receive the highest number of points possible for the long drive challenge. Late starts will not be allowed on this challenge.
- Players will get five throws each and must use their own discs. The goal of this challenge is to throw as far as possible. A player’s disc will be scored where it comes to rest. The player will take the scores of their two lowest-scoring throws and add them together to get their score for the challenge.
- Discs may not be retrieved between throws, please bring five discs to complete the challenge.
- There will be a designated throwing area, or grid, that discs must land in. Discs that come to rest outside of the designated landing area (to the left or right) will be scored as six 6 points.
- Competitors must release the disc before either foot crosses the marked throwing line.
- Foot faults = maximum points (6) on that throw.
- The field will be marked with a grid of five 5 sections. Discs coming to rest in the grid section closest to the throwing area will score five (5 points, and each consecutive section will decrease by one point until reaching the furthest section, which is worth one 1 point. Discs that come to rest beyond the boundary of the furthest section will score zero 0 points. A disc that lands on the line between two sections will score the lower of the two scores as long as a portion of the disc is touching inside of the lower-scoring section.
- There will be special “bonus” zones around the field that will count as score subtractors. If a disc comes to rest in these zones, the player will score -10 for that throw.
- The best score possible (if a player throws two discs that both land in a bonus zone) = -20; worst score (if all of a player’s throws go out of bounds) = 12.
- Example Scoring Scenario:
- After two days of qualifying, a player scores:
- 58 on the 18-hole Gilman Greens course
- 55 on the 18-hole Tigiwon Trail course
- 5 on the putting skills challenge (5 missed putts)
- 5.07 on the MPH skills challenge (42 MPH + in-basket bonus)
- 6 on the long drive challenge (two best discs landed in the middle grid for 3 points each)
- 18 on the 9-hole accuracy course in EagleVail (landed in circle two on every hole)
- Total Score = 147.07 (58+55+5+5.07+6+18)
- After two days of qualifying, a player scores:
