The most iconic kayaking family in the United States, if not the world, the Jacksons launched with Eric Jackson who instilled a strong genetic disposition for paddling through fast water. It has consequently trickled down, now working its way into its third generation. Based in Rock Island, Tenn., when they’re not traveling across the country in their RV, the Jacksons are catching eyes, victories and, sometimes, fish. Emily and Dane are mainstays on Mountain Games podiums while Emily and husband/fellow kayak champ Nick Troutman have two petit paddlers of their own who are in the first phases of getting their feet wet: Tucker, 7, and Parker, 4.
The Mountain Games are family friendly not just for the Jacksons, but your family, too. The Mountain Games will feature on-water events including the GMC Kayak Freestyle, Pacifico Gore IV Kayak Challenge, GMC Down River Kayak Sprint and Pacifico 8-Ball Kayak Sprint (so long as water levels cooperate!)
