MOUNTAINS OF MUSIC: FREE DAYTIME MUSIC

Bill McKay Band

Bill McKay began his musical journey at the age of six, taking classical piano lessons and singing in a church choir as a boy soprano. In high school, he studied jazz theory and ear training, and sang in the choir and barbershop group, touring in England, Wales, and Amsterdam. Bill began playing rock and roll in bars and clubs at the age of 16 with various bands.

THE DANDY LIONS

The Dandy Lions is the combination of Daniel Rodriguez and Andy Thorn, two musicians known for tunes both floral and wild. Together, the Dandy Lions sing and play their way through originals and covers spanning their careers in Elephant Revival, Leftover Salmon, and more. Don’t miss their gentle roar.

Danger Mountain

Danger Mountain is a five-piece string band that brings forth a progressive bluegrass sound, blending traditional instrumentation with modern genres and styles. Since forming in Eagle, Colorado in 2022, they’ve built an energized and growing fan base with their dynamic repertoire, creative musical approach and experimental live performances. Their music is influenced by Yonder Mountain String Band, Tony Rice, David Grisman, The Grateful Dead and Billy Strings.

Emelise

Emelise is an 18 year old singer/songwriter musician from Denver whose passion for making music often has her listeners referring to her as an old soul. Her style is a folk-rock, Americana blend. Emelise has been playing live music in front of crowds since she was six years old. Just recently she was in the studio and recorded her first EP titled On My Way produced by Brad Corrigan from Dispatch.

Heavy Diamond Ring

HDR is the culmination (thus far) of their signature sound, a fountain of open-hearted, folk-rock, steeped in vocal harmony and group synergy. Led by Anderson’s smooth-as-honey vocals and DeHaven’s rugged guitar chops, the band has been described as “open-road, long drive music”, having “a little bit of twang, and a whole lot of beef”, and their live show as “infectious and contagious”. The band is rounded out by veteran knockouts Blake Stepan (bass), Mike Lang (keys), and Orion Tate Ignelzi (drums).

Nick and Nat

Nick and Natalie are a local duo switching between mandolin, guitar, and vocals as they play classic hits with a side of bluegrass.

Rapidgrass

Rapidgrass embodies the notion that nature, and particularly mountains, can bring out the best in our art, and we have dedicated much of our creative energy into bringing that art back to the people of the mountains. Rapidgrass focuses on travel to mountain towns and inspires mountain people and athletes around the globe. Our music is motivated by and made for those who find peace in the mountains. We focus our energy on outdoor mountain lifestyle/culture events.

Rocky Mountain Grateful Dead Revue

In the heart of the Rockies, where the spirit of the Grateful Dead echoes through the canyons, emerged the Rocky Mountain Grateful Dead Revue (RMGDR). Formed in 2005, this ensemble of exceptional musicians represents the pinnacle of Grateful Dead tribute bands in the Rocky Mountain region.

Shakedown Family Band
The Shakedown family band is made up of the best of the Shakedown Bar Vail roster of artists. The band will perform classic rock hits as well as original music written by the Shakedown family band members. Any show featuring the Shakedown family band is not one to miss with hot and prominent vocals, Soaring guitar leads, and rhythm sections you can sit your watch to! Don’t miss the Shakedown family band!

Taylor Scott Band

For Taylor Scott, nothing is black and white. He operates in the grey areas between genres, creating his own colorful hybrid of roots-rock, funk, soul, and troubadour-style Americana. It’s a sound that’s as diverse as its creator, whipped into sharp shape by a musician who’s equal parts guitar hero and singer/songwriter craftsman. He embraces the full range of those roles with The Hang, the third album from the Taylor Scott Band.

The Jauntee

The Jauntee is an electrifying and genre-blending musical ensemble that has captivated audiences with their unique and dynamic sound. Formed in 2010, the band has been pushing the boundaries of improvisational music, combining elements of jazz, funk, rock, and psychedelic jams to create a sonic experience like no other.

The Sweet Spot

Emerging from a basement at the top of Bridge Street, Dave Tucker and the Sweet Spot are searching for that perfect meld of train-beats and psychedelic-rock. Performing songs from Tucker’s debut record “In Kind” get ready to dance and explore.

Town Cavalry

Featuring members of Circles Around the Sun, J.J. Grey and Mofro, The Other Brothers, and Johnny Schleper Band, Town Cavalry’s high energy rock and roll, and funk brings a captivating, unforgettable show.

Turntable Revue
The Turntable Revue’s sister and brother team, Terry Armistead and Joe Bianchi, grew up in the mountains of Vermont. An antenna could rarely pick up a television station there, so they spent every night jamming with their musical parents. As they describe it: daddy was a guitar playing, beer drinking folk singer, and mama was a piano playing, church singer with a voice like an angel.
Mama Magnolia

Following a successfully overfunded Kickstarter campaign, Dear Irvington was a comfort for Mama Magnolia to lean into amidst a continually harrowing time, while also turning tumultuous, personal stories into ostensibly groovy jaunts. They enlisted producer Robert Ellis and former White Denim drummer and engineer Josh Block to help funnel their ideas and further animate their intricate, sometimes nerdy, sophisticated rock compositions.
